Christmas Flower Clipart

Christmas flowers have a long history. Poinsettias are a favored flower popular in the United States, and are easily recognizable by their red leaves arranged in a star pattern. It is said that two Mexican children first brought the plant (which was green) to church as a gift for the Baby Jesus in a manger scene. When those present laughed at their gift, the green leaves of the plant miraculously turned red!

Roses are also a popular choice for Xmas flowers. Popular legend has it that, as the three wise men traveled to pay tribute to Christ's birth, they came upon a small shepherdess. The shepherdess, having nothing to give that would compare with gold, frankincense and myrhh, was very sad. An angel saw her tears and revealed to her a white rose tipped with crimson - the Christmas rose! She gave the flower to the Wisemen, who (it is said) added it to their gifts for the Christ child.
